The Games You Want to Play…18India

18 India

Chuck, Doug, Scott G., and Tim learned to play 18 India. Tim had not played any 18xx games before, so this was his baptism by fire. Although the core game is 18xx, the 18 India version brings some different mechanics to the game play. The designers picked their favorite elements from a number of other 18xx games. Also, the game uses smaller hexes than the standard to be able to fit the entirety of India onto a normal table.

Some of the bigger changes we noted from our standard 18xx experiences included: An initial deal of cards, followed by a discard, followed by a drafting round for stock certificates to give every player a hand; an IPO board of most of the remaining certificates; trains not rusting; the availability of commodities; and guaranty companies.

Congratulations to Chuck for his victory with $10,101. Doug came in 2nd with $8,771, Tim in 3rd with $7,707, and Scott in 4th with $6,620.
